Why Verge Atlas
Principles you will feel on day three
Altitude honesty
We publish realistic hiking hours, not brochure fantasy. Rest days are planned—not improvised after someone feels sick.
Fair labour
Insurance and equipment for staff, clear tipping guidance for guests, and loads that respect porter welfare codes.
Low-impact choices
Where routes allow, we favour community lodges, refillable water plans, and routes that spread benefit beyond a single valley.
Voices from the trail
Recent travellers
“Verge Atlas rebuilt our dates three times around Lukla weather. When we finally flew, the Gokyo itinerary felt calm—not rushed. That care is rare.”
“Dolpo was harder than we expected emotionally and physically. The team’s transparency about camping loads and rest days made us trust every decision.”
“We wanted Manaslu without the “factory trek” feel. Small group, same guide start to finish, and lodges that actually had hot showers when promised.”
FAQ
Planning questions
Straight answers—the same ones we give on the phone before you commit.
What is included in your quoted trek prices?
Quotes typically cover licensed guides, porters or pack animals where applicable, teahouse lodging on lodge routes, meals on full-board camping expeditions, domestic flights where listed, permits, and ground transfers as per the itinerary. International flights, travel insurance, and personal gear are usually excluded—we itemise everything in writing before you pay a deposit.
How far in advance should we book?
For spring and autumn peak windows, many groups reserve 4–8 months ahead—especially for restricted regions like Upper Dolpo or small-plane sectors. Shoulder-season trips can often be arranged with shorter notice if permits and flights are available.
Do you run private departures?
Yes. Most of our published routes can run privately with adjusted pacing, extra rest days, or family-friendly variants. We will quote a private itinerary separately from fixed small-group departures.
Ready for a route that respects your lungs and your calendar?
Tell us your month, fitness background, and whether you prefer lodges or tents—we will reply with two or three coherent options.
