Downloaded GPX tracks and offline tiles are excellent backups—especially for estimating time between villages. They are not a substitute for a qualified guide on glacier travel, landslide zones, or when visibility collapses.
We provide curated GPX layers matched to our operational routes, but we still expect teams to follow human decision-making on the ground. If your phone dies, your map should not die with it—carry paper, know the compass, and tell someone the plan.
